Basic answers to questions about Mapper Stats Search.
What is Mapper Stats Search?
Mapper Stats Search is a simple utility for looking up BeatSaver mapper stats, where you can
find detailed information about a mapper, including top maps, collaboration details, badges,
votes, ranked maps, difficulty spreads, and other mapper-related information.
Why do I need to accept local storage?
In short, we're trying to be friendly to BeatSaver's API. Stats can take a while to load,
especially for users with many maps, and we're not trying to get rate limited. Local storage
allows the site to cache results in your browser for a limited time so repeat searches are
fetched locally versus hitting BeatSaver again. You can find any cached data in your
browser's Local Storage and IndexedDB section.
How are badges added?
Ranked Mapper badges are automatically assigned if you were an uploader or collaborator on a
ranked map, regardless of specific contribution (see the next Q/A). Badges like "BSMG Event
Winner", "Beasties Award Winner", "Beat Games", etc. are manually entered. While I try to
keep them accurate, I'm human and make mistakes. If you notice an issue, please let me know!
I have a Ranked Mapper badge but I've never had anything ranked. What gives?
Long reasoning ahead... Looking for ranked maps is not easy in the slightest... I considered
making it where only if you were marked as the uploader and a map was marked as ranked would
you get the badge, but that leaves the question of "what if you collaborated and the
uploader had a ranked diff and you had a ranked diff - how do I handle that?" Well in that
case - there's no way that I am aware of that can differentiate the specific user to the
diff and count a ranked map of it. For the sake of me not over-engineering the ever loving
everything out of this - if you had anything to do with a ranked map on BeatLeader or
ScoreSaber, congrats! You get the badge! The good news here is that BeatLeader makes it
really easy to look at what maps are ranked by who (thank you BeatLeader - you're amazing!).
So click on the BeatLeader Ranked Mapper badge and you'll be taken to a listing where you
can see what it was. Unfortunately, ScoreSaber is less than gracious with this so I don't
have a way to do that.
Why am I listed as a "Contributor" in Beasties Pack of the Year wins?
You were listed as a "Mapper" in the pack's listing on BeatSaver at the time of entry. Only
the organizer (creator of the playlist/pack) gets the added "Winner - Organizer"
specification.
How do I report an issue or make a suggestion?
Reach out through Discord using the link in the footer (if you're having trouble reaching
out, join the BeastSaber Discord server so you can message me - I keep Friending and DMs
limited so that I don't get spam). Please include the mapper name, ID, or direct link, what
looks wrong, and what you expected to see. Be as specific and detailed as possible on your initial message or I will ignore it.
